Mardi Gras, a day of overindulgences before you start your fast for the next 40 days and 40 nights.  If you're going to give up your biggest vices for that long, you might as well whoop it up the night before on Mardi Gras aka Fat Tuesday!  Drink up and party up.  You don't have to worry about ending up topless in one of those Girls Gone Wild videos.
